Web 2.0

Web 2.0 describes an emerging web trend. Until recently a web site normally consisted of a set of pages containing information (hopefully) useful to its readers. That's now being termed Web 1.0.

We now see a new type of site or service (i.e. rss), exemplified by Google Maps, Flickr, Del.icio.us in which content (often supplied by users) is repackaged with added functionality. A web site becomes a web application. The web becomes a platform. This is being termed Web 2.0.

Example: TagCloud

Tagcloud is a Web 2.0 site that lets you select a series of rss feeds from blogs and web sites. It takes the feeds, analyzes the keywords and plots them graphically for you. Here are two I've created.
