Identity manuals

Once an organization has a well-designed visual identity, an identity manual provides guidelines for consistency in future visual projects. Traditionally, identity manuals were developed by and for graphic designers. Today, with the rise of desktop publishing within organizations, the focus is changing to identity manuals for internal staff use. These may be printed or published directly to the organization's intranet.

Online identity manuals developed specifically for the organization's web site are beginning to be seen, and make sense for large and mid-sized organizations.
