Service areas
We divide our services into several broad categories:
- Visual identity and branding
- print design
- web development
- exhibit materials
- marketing
Visual identity and branding
Visual identity and branding programs can include logo development, selection of corporate color schemes and logo color palettes, preparation of business papers and forms, template designs for advertising, brochure development, direct mail, etc. The goal is to provide a unified identity to the public. Identity programs can be as simple as choosing a specific type style and color for your corporate name. They can be as extensive as the design development of a corporate persona, color schemes and templates for packaging lines, advertising, direct marketing, etc.
Print design
Print design encompasses a broad range of graphic design products that are primarily reproduced by the printing process. Print publications include books, magazines, and newspapers/newsletters. Other printed materials include annual reports, advocacy and marketing brochures, direct marketing campaigns, advertising, miscellaneous promotional materials and packaging.
Web development
Web development can include the design of web pages and templates, the programming of web applications used on web sites such as blogs, interactive design and computer-based education, the optimization of web pages for search engines (sometimes called seo), attention to the user experience, information architecture (the structuring of web sites to facilitate ease of use by viewers).
Exhibit materials
Exhibit materials refer to the design of posters, trade show booths and banners, museum exhibitions, environmental graphics such as signage and outdoor advertising, interior graphics and lobby displays.
Marketing and communications
Marketing is the larger category into which graphic design and web design fit. As such, marketing is the sum of activities an organization uses to communicate with its customers/clients. Marketing begins by defining audiences and analyzing markets, the competition, the pricing structure, etc. of a product/service. Objectives, strategies and tactics are developed to further the marketing analysis. Advertising and public relations are tools of marketing, as is graphic design and web development. Communications are used by the headquarters to supplement product/service marketing efforts.
How to work with a graphic design firm
The first step is to evaluate your marketing plan in relation to existing materials and your communications plan. Next, we determine with you what materials need updating, what new materials you need and then what services are needed, creating the design brief so that we agree on goals and objectives.
If you have already done your own evaluation and know exactly what is needed, we still work with a design brief to develop the needed materials, in the areas of visual identity, print design, web development, exhibits.
Since design services are customized for each client, estimates are prepared for each unique project. Evaluations of your existing materials are offered as a free service. Please contact us for more information.
